About this Concert

In collaboration with vocalists Helen Pridmore and Jennifer Beattie, Canadian Composer Terri Hron created Out Loud, a two-part opera and contemporary feminist take on classic female characters
in literature.

Using live performance, electronic audio, and video, the opera presents a multi-layered versions of familiar tales, exploring and exposing new strengths and approaches to understanding these well-loved women.

Woven throughout the performance will be Saskatoon musical material, drawn from online workshops with Saskatoon residents in the weeks leading up to the festival.

This concert is presented in partnership with Edmonton’s new music festival Now Hear This.
